Hanafuda – Japanese flower card game
Hanafuda is a traditional Japanese card game in which nature, the seasons, and strategy are combined into an elegant and visually rich game.

The classic deck contains 48 cards, divided into 12 months, each month depicted with its characteristic plants, flowers, birds, animals, and other seasonal symbols. How do you play Hanafuda?

During the game, players try to collect cards from the same month and create special scoring combinations, or Yaku. These can be formed from especially valuable cards, animals, ribbons, and flower motifs.
The special tension of Koi-Koi comes from the choice—stop and take points, or continue playing, risking to get an even more valuable combination.
Hanafuda combines luck, memory, observation, and tactical decision-making, so every round is different.
